Exercise should be fun, safe and accessible. We don't need to be in a gym to get a good workout, and I can bring equipment to you so that we can complete well rounded workouts. I pride myself on making your workouts something that you look forward to as you receive the guidance and accountability that you need to be successful and consistent. Train with me anywhere over Zoom, or we can we train in a park or in your backyard.
MY BACKGROUND
Early in my fitness career, I worked for two years as an Aide in a Sports Therapy clinic. I was able to work with patients from an injured or post-operative state all the way to recovery. This position granted me the ability to see exercise in a medical context, where movement is healing.
I have since worked in the gym setting, working one-on-one with my clients and leading small groups. I find weight management to be the most fulfilling and challenging component of my work, as there are many factors that can make or break a client's success. Much of the success that I observe in my clients with weight loss goals can be attributed to their development of long lasting, positive habits around food and movement, in addition to the development of healthy stress management outlets.
In the same way that stress management skills are vital for weight management, I view exercise as an important tool in the management of various mental health concerns, particularly depression and anxiety. While exercise can never be used as a substitute for medically guided mental health care, it is a valuable compliment to the effort that a person puts forth in caring for one’s mental well being. I see an exercise routine and the associated healthy habits such as meal preparation and a structured sleep schedule as vital tools in the ongoing promotion of one's mental health and self care. For these reasons, I strive to share the benefits of exercise and healthy living with each and every client I see.
I enjoy working with my clients over Zoom, in client's homes, or outdoors in parks and backyards. I look forward to helping you reach your goals, whether we do so virtually from the comfort of your own home or in-person in a beautiful outdoor setting.
